Tuesday July 6, 2010 -- Foods-Are-US meeting 6:30p Hugas Building.  We will have a "training" session to show you how to set-up the market.  We will also be doing some training on Saturday morning :)  You can leave right after that if all you need is a little training and are not involved in the other agenda items. At the meeting we are going to be discussing some of the rules and regs, vendors and such. So... if you would like to be a part of that come to the meeting if you can. Be sure to email me anything else you would like to discuss as would like to put an agenda together for this meeting so we can focus on creating an organized market! Everyone is welcome to come.

Wednesday, Sept. 2nd, 2009 -- Foods-Are-US members will be touring a local garden.

Claire Howey is our volunteer for next week.  She claims that nothing much grew for her this year but we can see her raised beds and greenhouse.  I think we will also have a contest of who can design the best new flower bed for her.  I'll have to think of a prize for the winner!

Wednesday, Aug. 26th, 2009 -- Foods-Are-US members will be touring a local garden.

This week we will tour Thelma Adam's yard.  It is a wonderful site filled with flowers of all sorts, a fountain, outrageously large sunflowers and tomatoes... wagons... ok you get the idea... a great place to visit :)  We will meet in front of the Hugus Building at 6:15 and the tour will begin at 6:30 pm.

Wednesday, Aug. 12th, 2009 -- Another local garden tour!

Marie Rogers has invited us to tour her place.  She lives at 1287 Garfield in Meeker.  I think that should be easy to find so we can just meet at her house.  The tour will begin at 6:30 pm.

Sunday, Aug. 9th, 2009 -- The Eagle Community Garden is hosting a tailgate party at 6:00 pm. 
If you are interested in taking a drive to tour their gardens, contact Katie Day for details.

Wednesday, Aug. 5th, 2009 -- Foods-Are-US members will be touring a local garden.

We have re-scheduled Angie Arnold's tour!  She has a great variety of annuals and perennials. 

It will be Wednesday, Aug. 5th at 6:30pm.  We will meet in front of the Hugus Building at 6:15 for those who don't know where she lives.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009 --
Foods-Are-US members will be touring a local garden.

Gina Spencer has extended an invitation to us to tour her garden which includes flowers, vegetables, and a tree farm.  The tour will begin at 6:30 pm.

For those who don't know where Gina lives, let's plan to meet at the Hugus Building at 6:15.  We will depart promptly at 6:20.

Wednesday, June 24, 2009 -- We will be visiting one of the local gardens to see how beautiful it is.

Helen Stanathan is willing to have our next meeting in her garden!!! She has been gardening in this area for quite awhile and will have some great things for us to see! The meeting/tour will begin at 6:30pm.

Those who do not know where Helen lives, plan to meet in front of the Hugus Building at 6:15p. We can then follow each other to her garden :) We will leave from in front of the Hugus Building promptly at 6:20p... so we can get our tour in before dark.

Those who know where she lives can simply meet the rest of us at Helen's.

Saturday -- March 21, 2009

“Soil, Seeds, and Seasons: Gardening on the Western Slope”
WORKSHOP with Brook Le Van from Sustainable Settings.

Brook Le Van is going to cover soil building, extending the season, choosing seeds and varieties and SOOOOO much more. He is very knowledgeable about growing things in our unpredictable climate. If you want to have a better garden this year or simply have a garden ... this IS the workshop for you. Let all of your gardening buddies know.

Time: 10am to 4pm
Cost: $10 per person.
Location: The Hugus Building room #8 upstairs
